Starting today, there may be help for Bars and Gyms in Arizona.
Gov. Doug Ducey and Local First Arizona have partnered to provide small business grants to gyms, bars, movie theaters and other businesses impacted by the economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Arizona Small Business Rent and Mortgage Relief Grant will hand out $10 million to businesses that were specifically forced to close during the state’s shutdown: bars, gyms, movie theaters, water parks and tubing operators. The maximum award a business can get is $25,000 to use toward up to two months of rent or mortgage payments.
“Grants will be prioritized for businesses that are most in need of the funding to meet their rent or mortgage obligations and do not have access to other financial support,” according to a statement on the Local First website.
